1. CHOREOGRAPHY
Individual ball skills training is
essential for players to grasp a fundamental
understanding of the myriad of options that we are
capable of with the ball at our feet. We employ a
system of specific footwork exercises, which are
grounded in discipline, choreography and
progression. This enables
players to graduate from simple movements
incorporating balance, timing, rhythm and strength,
into complete skills performed with “second
nature” becoming seemingly effortless. We liken
or parallel this experience to a dance with the
ball.
We refer to the training as “freestyle
movement” encouraging multiple turns, moves,
speed and directional changes.
2. COORDINATION
The objective of “training by
choreography” with repetitive skills exercises is
to accelerate the players’ development of
coordination.
Particularly in the formative years,
coordination is imperative for only future
success in football. If a young player is educated/exposed to their deficiencies,
and then taught “how to move” on and off the
ball, their newfound athleticism will have a
positive impact on their skills development. An encounter with the ball in a dynamic environment will no
longer be a struggle because mind and body can work
in synergy. The
ball only does what we make it do; the better
athletes we become, the greater positive effect we
can have on the game.
3. CONTROL
Movement in synergy is control. Our philosophy is, and has always insisted, that control of
the ball, can only come about if the player can
control their body.
Since the mind is the body’s pilot, we
accomplish this educational process by employing
the strict discipline of “choreography and
repetition.”
If a player has experienced a particular
aspect of control through training exercises, when
confronted with the same scenario in a match, they
are eventually very likely to succeed.
Thereby “excellence creates success.”
Ultimately, success whether it be a
micro environment in training, or a macro
experience in a game related situation, will
inevitably provide for a confident player.
4. CONFIDENCE
Every
player is given the “tools.”
Our staff want all players to be as good as
they can be. Through
knowledge, experience and time tested practice we
have a system of training with is expressly for the
development of passionate young footballers. Whose
ability evolves from raw latent into that of a
craftsman with the requisite skills to play the
“beautiful game” with confidence, and
consequently, much joy!
